Why is the correct ring size important?
A well-fitting ring is comfortable, secure, and looks elegant. A ring that is too tight can be uncomfortable and difficult to remove, while one that is too loose risks being lost. Before purchasing a ring – whether for yourself or as a gift – always ensure you have the correct size.
Method 1: Measuring with tape or a strip of paper
This is the most accurate home method:
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or a measuring tape around the finger on which you intend to wear the ring.
- Mark the point where the paper meets (finger circumference in mm).
- Measure the length of the strip with a ruler.
- Compare the measured value with the size chart below.
Tip: Measure in the evening or after physical activity – fingers are slightly swollen then, and the size will be more accurate.
Method 2: Measuring an existing ring
If you already have a ring that fits you:
- Measure the inside diameter of the ring with a ruler (in mm).
- Compare with the chart below.

Tips for accurate measurement
- Measure your finger at room temperature – cold constricts fingers, heat expands them.
- If you have larger knuckles, choose the size based on the knuckle and have the ring adjusted.
